How do you get from where you are to where you suppose to be?

What do you bring to therapy?

You bring pain and distress: emotional and/or physical. It is usually packed into a crisis, conflict or problem. With parents, partner or children. With your boss or co-workers. With friends. With your past. With your-self.

You come to therapy because you feel tired, depressed, anxious or experience other symptoms and you want to change that.

You come to therapy because you experienced traumatic event(s) and you want your life back.

Disclosure: I can’t take away your pain. I can show you how to work with it, cope with it and/or transform into something different.

What do I bring to therapy and how I work?

I bring Space. Time. Compassion. Understanding.

I’m very practical in my approach. My goal is for you to become stronger and self-reliant. I teach many tools and skill in the areas of self-regulation, emotional regulations, cognition and behavior (CBT), mindfulness, boundaries, and others.

I explain mechanisms and patterns of certain behaviors (for example laziness and procrastination) so you can be more confident navigating your own life. We hack into the internal process of change so you can create fulfilling, exciting life.

I bring specific tools and strategies of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, EMDR, Gestalt therapy, somatic therapies and others. Learn more about different therapy approaches here.

What to expect on the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. After you fill out forms and we go through paperwork, we will settle into mindful conversation.

I will ask you a lot of questions about your life and what brings you to therapy. You can experience specific difficulties and symptoms you want to work on. Or you can have a vague feelings of low energy, dissatisfaction or unhappiness in your life without knowing what to focus on and where to start. You don’t have to know all answers – just be willing to explore.

Therapy is a very collaborative process. You are always in charge of how much information you want to disclose and what you want to talk about. You don’t need to tell me everything about your life during the first session. Especially, if you experienced trauma in the past. Let your level of comfort guide you through the process.

At the end of the first session I will explain how I can help you in your journey and how we will work together. We might set some goals. You are always welcome to ask any questions.

What to expect from therapy?

I see therapy as both, art and science. Imagine you are bringing a broken puzzle of your life into my office. There only could be one piece missing or it could be messy in various degrees. I see and understand every piece one by one. Then, there is a process of putting it all together. You are not alone in that. We will figure it out. With time you will see a beautiful picture. I see it now.
